Our Story Founded in 1978
Founded in 1978 by Jim Cook at Palm Beach International Airport, Palm Beach Avionics, Inc. has grown alongside the aviation industry. Stacey Jordan joined the team the same year, and together, they expanded the business, relocating to Boca Raton Airport in 1986 and then to the new North County Airport (F45) in 1996. In October 2012, Stacey Jordan took on the role of president, leading the company into a new era. In 2021, Robert Spahr stepped in as president, bringing a wealth of experience as a retired commercial pilot.
As an FAA Approved Repair Station (CRS # MI4R363M), we hold ratings in Radio Class Ratings I, II & III, along with Limited Instrument, Autopilot, and Airframe certifications. Our team includes NCATT-certified technicians who possess a thorough knowledge of both modern and legacy avionics systems. We emphasize ongoing training to stay abreast of advancements in aviation electronics, ensuring our staff is always at the forefront of technology. With over 30 years of membership in the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), we remain committed to providing top-tier avionics services to our valued clients.

Meet Our President
Robert Spahr, President of Palm Beach Avionics
Robert Spahr began his aviation career as a US Navy P-3 pilot and completed a 15,000 hour, 32 year career, with American Airlines as a B-777 Captain. Unique to a flying career he worked 8 years for the Northrop Corporation as a Product Application Engineer and Product Manager, engineering and marketing avionics to prime contractors including, Boeing, Hughes, Martin, Ford, RCA, McDonald Douglas, LTV, USN, USAF and NASA.
Experience
American Airlines (1984 – 2011; 1979 – 1981)
- Captain 777, Captain 757/767, Captain A300, Captain 727, Co-Pilot 727, Co-Pilot MD 80, Flight Engineer 727;
- Approximately 15,000 flying hours and ATP ratings L188, CE500, 727, A300, 757, 767, 777;
- Extensive domestic and international experience, including Caribbean, Latin America, South America, and Europe.
Northrop, Precision Products Division (1981 – 1988)
- Sales Consultant, Product Development Manager, Application Engineer;
- Responsible for sales and marketing of Inertial Navigation Systems to prime contractors, U. S. Military, and NASA;
- Customers included TRW, Rockwell, RCA, LTV, Texas Instruments, Lockheed, Ford, Boeing, USAF, USN, and NASA;
- Product line consisted of highly integrated systems of electronic and electro-magnetic devices, with focus on tactical weapon and GPS inertial guidance and two and three axis attitude reference for Space Launch Vehicles and Satellites;
- Increased sales from $3 million to $6 million;
- Achieved the best profit margins within the division;
- Marketed Micro Optic Gyro and Ring Laser Gyro to government agencies;
- Program involvement includes Space Shuttle, Titan, Goes Satellites, GPS Satellites, AMRAAM Missiles, Harpoon, Phoenix, and Cruise Missiles.
Commissioned Officer, U. S. Navy & Naval Reserve (1972 – 1985)
- Naval Aviator, NATOPS Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Test Pilot, Aircraft Commander, Mission Commander;
- Missions included Anti-Submarine Warfare, Ocean Surveillance, and Special Intelligence.
